Cyber security boost for social procurement
Metro Tunnel - Rail Systems Alliance
An Aboriginal technology company is providing RSA an invaluable cyber security service, while also helping the project's social procurement spend top $4 million.
RSA engages Towcha Technology for cyber security governance and risk management services. The Melbourne based firm has provided guidance and helped deliver cyber security risk and information security management plans since September 2019.
Cyber Security Manager Kevin Bahmanpour said Towcha provided an invaluable service. "(Towcha) have helped us to carry out around 150 hours of specialised cyber security technical workshops with product SMEs as well as around 100 hours of cyber security risk workshops," he said.
"These workshops ranged from stage delivery to design and package delivery (initial implementation, Pakenham East, surface and tunnel). Risk workshops, as well as reports that we produced, help RSA AMT and stakeholders understand the risk of cyber security in delivered systems.”
Social Inclusion lead Steve Bryson said the project's social procurement spend has just exceeded $4 million across 33 social enterprises and Aboriginal businesses.
"To use such a range of social suppliers across this technical scope of the MTP is huge for these businesses to demonstrate their capability, promote further growth within their operations, and get their name out in the industry for future work opportunities," he continued "Towcha has been a great addition to the project over the past two years, providing an important professional niche service to the project”.
